Committee Work Plan pdf icon PDF 26 KB

Minutes:

The Committee received the Committee’s Work Plan for the remainder of the municipal year.

It was noted that as the revised Gambling Commission Guidance had now been published, the report ‘Substantive Review of Gambling Act Licensing Policy Statement’ could be allocated to the next meeting of this Committee.

The Committee’s attention was drawn to an issue which had been raised recently regarding certain wording in the Standard Conditions for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Drivers Licensing.  It was noted that the intention was to review the Standard Conditions and that in the meantime, Officers would investigate whether any interim measures could be introduced to ensure that the wording was legally water-tight.

            RESOLVED that

(a)       the Work Plan is noted;

(b)       the report ‘Substantive Review of Gambling Act Licensing Policy Statement’ be allocated to the 22 March 2016 meeting of this Committee;

(c)        a Review of the Standard Conditions for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver Licensing is added to the Work Plan.

Additional documents:

Minutes:

The Committee received a report on the recent review of Hackney Carriage and private hire vehicle MOT and compliance testing.

The Committee noted a minor correction to paragraph 9 of the report, which should have read that there was an option to extend the contract for a further two years (not 36 months).

The Committee was pleased to note that the review had concluded that the current arrangements were working satisfactorily.

RESOLVED that the current approach to MOT and compliance testing for Hackney Carriage and private hire vehicle licensing is maintained until re-procurement is required.
