            RESOLVED that the procedure for the following hearings is noted.

Exclusion of Press and Public

The Chair will move that the following items be taken in private session on the grounds that they are likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as specified under Paragraph 1 of Part One of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, if and so long as in all the circumstances of the cases, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing information.

 

Paragraph 1: Information relating to any individual.

RESOLVED that the following items be taken in private session on the grounds that they are likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as specified under Paragraph 1 of Part One of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, if and so long as in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing information.

Determination of Whether a Private Hire Driver is a 'Fit and Proper' person to be Granted a Private Hire Licence

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee received a report on an application for a private hire driver’s licence and considered all the evidence to determine the case in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976.

 

Having carefully considered the submissions of the applicant and the Licensing Team it was:

 

RESOLVED that the application for a private hire drivers licence be put on hold until the Court proceedings (as outlined in the report) are concluded; at which point the application be re-considered by either the Licensing Team or the Licensing Sub-Committee as appropriate.

10.

Determination of Whether an Applicant for a Private Hire Driver and Operator Licence is a 'Fit and Proper' Person

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee received a report on an application for both private hire driver and operator licences and considered the case in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976.

 

The applicant was accompanied by his trade representative.

 

Having carefully considered all the evidence presented by the Licensing Team, the applicant and the applicant’s representative, it was:

 

RESOLVED that the applicant is deemed to be a ‘fit and proper’ person and is therefore permitted to continue with the application processes for both driver and operator licences.
