RESOLVED that the Portfolio Holder approved the Churchgate Street Conservation Area (CA) Character Appraisal and Management Proposals (CMP) for consultation, as set out at Appendix C to the report.

To consult with members of the public and relevant organisations on the CMP.

A    Not consulting, as this is not a statutory consultation and is not required by legislation. This would save costs and resources. However, it is important that the Council seeks the views of residents and organisations on the CMP, as it forms part of the ongoing management of the Churchgate Street CA.

B    Not publishing the document and thereby abandoning the management proposals. This would save costs and resources. However, it is important that Conservation Areas are managed effectively and the Council has a legal duty to monitor and protect them.
