RESOLVED that Councillor Lanie Shears is elected as Chair for the meeting.

The Chair will move that the following item be taken in private session on the grounds that it is likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as specified under Paragraph 1 of Part One of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, if and so long as in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing information.

Paragraph 1: Information relating to any individual.

RESOLVED that the following item is taken in private session on the grounds that it is likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as specified under Paragraph 1 of Part One of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, if and so long as in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing information.

            RESOLVED that the procedure for the following hearing is noted.

The Sub-Committee received a report on an application for a private hire driver’s licence.

Members of the Sub-Committee considered the application to determine the case in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976.

Having carefully considered all the evidence presented by the Licensing Officer, the applicant and the applicant’s character witness, it was:

RESOLVED that the applicant is deemed to be a ‘fit and proper’ person and is therefore permitted to continue with the application for a private hire driver’s licence, which would be subject to the condition that he makes himself available for a random drugs test as arranged by the Licensing Team; and paid for by the licence-holder.
