RESOLVED that Councillor Mike Garnett is elected to chair this hearing.

Councillors’ declarations of interest (if any) in relation to any items on the agenda.

The Chair will move that the following item be taken in private session on the grounds that it is likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as specified under Paragraph 1 of Part One of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, if and so long as in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing information.

Paragraph 1: Information relating to any individual.

RESOLVED that the following items be taken in private session on the grounds that they are likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as specified under Paragraph 1 of Part One of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, if and so long as in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing information.

RESOLVED that the procedure for the meeting is noted.

The Sub Committee received a report for an application for a hackney carriage driver licence. The driver also held a private hire driver licence.

Members of the Sub Committee considered the application to determine that case in accordance with the provisions of the Town Police Causes Act 1847 and the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976.

Having carefully considered all the evidence presented by the Licensing Officer, the applicant, the applicant’s representative and the witness it was:

RESOLVED that upon finding the applicant not to be a’ fit and proper’ person, the applicant will not be permitted to renew its hackney carriage driver licence. The applicant’s private hire driver licence would also be revoked.
