Minutes: The Sub Committee considered an application for the variation of the premises licence from Hakan Hayrettin (the applicant) for The Chequers Public House, 2 Market Street, Harlow, Essex, CM17 0AH. The application had been referred to the Sub Committee following relevant representations which were received during the consultation period.
The applicant advised that he wished to withdraw the application for non-standard timings for 26 December as the premises typically doesn’t open on this day and sought an amendment to his application of Condition 3.0 to allow live music between the hours of 16:00 and 21:00 on a Sunday.
Having carefully considered all of the evidence presented by the Council’s Licensing Officer, the applicant, the applicant’s representatives, the Council’s Environmental Health Officer, Essex Police, Councillor Joel Charles and six residents it was:
RESOLVED that the Sub Committee:
A Agreed the application to extend the sale of alcohol on Friday and Saturday from 23:30 to 00:00
B Refused the application to extend the hours of recorded music on Friday and Saturday from 23:30 to 00:00
C Agreed the application to extend the opening hours of the premises on Friday and Saturday from 00:00 to 00:30
D Refused the application to amend condition 3.13 and extend the use of the garden from 22:00 to 23:00
E Agreed the application for the opening hours of the premises non-standard timings on 24 December 11:00 to 01:00
F Refused the application to amend condition 3.0 to allow the performance of live music or in the alternative, to grant permission for live music on a Sunday between the hours of 16:00 and 21:00
