To appoint a Chair for the meeting.

RESOLVED that Councillor Nick Churchill was elected as Chair of the meeting.

The Chair will move that the following item be taken in private session on

the grounds that it is likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information

as specified under Paragraph 1 of Part One of Schedule 12A of the Local

Government Act 1972, if and so long as in all the circumstances of the

case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the

public interest in disclosing information.

Determination of an Application for a Private Hire Drivers Licence

Minutes:

The Sub Committee received a report on the application for a Private Hire Drivers Licence.

 

Members of the Sub Committee considered all the information and evidence presented to determine the case in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, the General Enforcement Policy for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing v6 and Harlow Councils Conviction Policy (Institute of Licensing’s ‘Guidance for determining the suitability of applicants and licensees in the hackney and private hire trades’ (as adopted 1 October 2019)).

 

Having carefully considered all of the information presented by the Licensing Officer and the applicant it was:

 

RESOLVED that the applicant is a ‘fit and proper’ person and would be allowed to continue with the Private Hire Drivers Licence application process.
