Private Hire Driver Renewal Minutes: The Sub Committee received a report on the application for a Private Hire Drivers Renewal.
Members of the Sub Committee considered all the information and evidence presented to determine the case in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, the General Enforcement Policy for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing v6 and Harlow Councils Conviction Policy (Institute of Licensing’s ‘Guidance for determining the suitability of applicants and licensees in the hackney and private hire trades’.
Having carefully considered all of the information presented by the Licensing Officer and the applicant it was:
RESOLVED that the applicant is a ‘fit and proper’ to hold a private hire drivers’ renewal and the following condition:
a) The applicant attend a speed related driving course within a reasonable period of time determined by the Council’s Licensing department. Membersdecided that should the Applicant be brought before a Regulatory Sub-Committee again; the same three members that were present at the Sub-Committee held on 3 April 2025 (subject to elections or changes in the Committee Membership) will hear the matter.
